Travel & Exchange Programs 

 

Canada World Youth CWY provides a variety of programs, in over 20 countries around the world, for youth between the ages of 15 and 35 looking to gain leadership experience through participation in community-driven development projects.

Education First (EF) offers language programs, cultural exchange, and EF international schools.

Explore Experience, learn, travel, and make friends for life during this five-week French-language bursary program.

Katimavik: Canada's National Youth Volunteer Organization. Learn how you can:

  • Live a three or six-month experience away from home
  • Discover Ontario or Quebec with a group of 10 other young people
  • Learn new skills while serving communities
  • Expand your job opportunities
  • Immerse yourself in different cultures

  • Improve your French
  • Find out what you’re good at and what you like to do
  • Plan your school or career path

Nacel No matter which Academic Program you choose, Nacel can provide you with an opportunity to experience a foreign culture, first hand. In your host family and at school, you will encounter a wealth of new sights, sounds and tastes. You will have a chance to listen to ideas and perspectives that may challenge your own. As long as you have the willingness to question preconceptions and discover new possibilities in yourself, your program will be ultimately rewarding. You must be between 15 and 17 years old.

Your family can also become a host family. Some of the foreign students at SJA are using this program.

Nova Scotia International Student Program Many foreign students at SJA are using this program to come and experience our culture. Your family can be a host family for them and learn their culture as well.

OSEF France Canada is looking for students to participate in reciprocal exchanges with France or Belgium. 1 month in June in France or 9 & 11 weeks in Belgium or Spain. Information session: March 7, 2015, Halifax Central library room 301A.

Rotary Youth Exchange Youth Exchange is a study-abroad opportunity for young people (15-19 years old) who spend anywhere from a few weeks to a full year as an international student hosted by local Rotary clubs.

SWAP (Student Work Abroad Program): "A SWAP experience is not only a fantastic way to cover your travel and living costs, but it's a great way to learn more about the world outside Canada adding international work experience to your resume."

YES Canada They travel to over 20 destinations across the globe offering Canadian students the opportunity to learn, travel and experience on a tailored study abroad program. On a YES Canada exchange, you will live with a host family, meet new friends at a host high school and explore an exciting new culture.  You must be between 14 and 18 years old.

Youth Challenge International Youth Challenge International is a leading global youth development organization that promotes youth innovation to drive positive change. YCI's projects are currently located in Africa, Central and South America. You must be between 18-35 years old.
